How about a History section

Is it possible to create a history fact section? I was thinking of looking at various regions or countries and their history of Islaam.

Yes, it is possible. This sounds like a good idea. Can you be more specific in terms of the names of the message boards that you have in mind.

Are you thinking to have a main category titled 'Islamic History' and then subcategories with headings of regions/countries...or just topics with titles of the various regions?

Will this tie in with achievements of past Muslims? Do you think the subcategories could alternatively be according to discipline?

What I find fascinating or very interesting is the origins and influence Islaam played on different regions/countries of the world.

So for example it would be very informative and interesting to have information on how Islaam came to Central Asia, South Asia, Africa, India, China, Spain, Philippines, Indonesia, and the list goes on and on. Now of course in discussing one country, say in one sub category, we would discuss accomplishments the Muslims made or anything else related. This would be for anyone who could contribute and would like to join the discussion.

So for example I am only recently learning about the Nigerian Muslim past and how Muslims rose up to try establish Islaam there. How many people would know this? We could discuss the regions that had great Muslim warriors or Muslims who stood up in the face of colonial oppression etc. Now of course for us, Muslims are Muslims, we are not separated from one another and we only appreciate the beauty of our differences and embrace our united love for this Deen and its re-establishment.

So perhaps a Major category with the title “The origins of Islaam around the World” or “Islaamic origins around the World,” then we could add information, as I have done on India and Africa, on different countries and regions. In these country subcategories, we could add past accomplishments, Islaam’s role today, work for revival, news, or disciplines etc.

This is my thinking, what do you think? I would be happy to learn and hear from others on this topic. Please feel free to email even individually on this subject if anyone wants to.

I think if we made the subcats into general regions or continents it would allow us to post specific country info into general country regions. So far example could you do this:

Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe and Australia are the names of the seven continents.


I would Divide Asia like this:

Far East Asia = China -- Japan -- Hong Kong -- Macau -- North Korea -- Russia -- South Korea -- Taiwan -

Central Asia = Turkmenistan -- Uzbekistan -- Kazakhstan -- Tajikistan -- Kyrgyzstan -

South Asia = Nepal -- Tibet -- India -- Sikkim -- Bangladesh -- Bhutan -- Sri Lanka -- Maldives -- Pakistan -- Afghanistan -

Southeast Asia = Singapore -- Malaysia -- Thailand -- Borneo -- Brunei -- Cambodia -- Laos -- Indonesia -- Bali -- Vietnam -- Philippines -- Myanmar -- Sabah -- Sarawak -- Kalimantan -- East Timor --

Caucasus Region = Armenia -- Azerbaijan -- Georgia -

So in summary I would create 4 major region cats with 5 subcats in Asia where most of the Muslims are.

3. Africa

4. Asian (Far East, Central, South, Southeast, Middle east/Western)


So if I want to post something on Turkey, I would post it under Middle east/western Asia. Something on Ethiopia or Kenya under Africa, and finally something on Uzbekistan under Central Asia.

In addition I would move the info already posted on India and Africa to their respective subcats.

There is a population of Muslims in Australia, so I guess this could be a cat as well.

With countries/continents such as Australia, Europe, or Americas, we could post immigration or conversion factors.
