Imran Waheed speaks to Radio 4's Sunday Programme Well whatever is being done internally to tackle extremism, Tony Blair has decided to take decisive and controversial action. High up the list is to ban groups like Hizb ut Tahrir. Otherwise known as the Party of Liberation it was formed in Jerusalem fifty years ago and has been active here since the eighties. It condemned the London bombings and says it is non-violent but it rejects democracy and wants Islamic rule throughout the Muslim world. Many blame it for laying the ideological foundations that lead to violence. www.bbc.co.uk/religion/realmedia/sunday/s20050807z.ram
