Interview with Jurors from the 'Ricin' Trial
"They got it so wrong in this case, what else are they getting wrong?"
The re-arrests of the men acquitted from the Ricin trials last week have invoked public rage and outcry over the treatment of these exonerated men. In particular, a number of the jurors from the original trial contacted Cageprisoners to voice their concerns over what they see to be a clear violation of the rule of law and fundamental principles of justice that the UK has always been so strong in protecting. What is becoming clear to them, is that the government is slowly turning the UK from being a liberal democracy, into becoming a hegemonic oligarchy. [More]

A Letter From The Muslims in Belmarsh
"No one has ever opposed a religion as the Belmarsh has and is by taking such harsh times of punishment such as stripped off canteen for weeks because you spoke of Islam, transferred to segregation unit for a month for acquiring books or calling out for prayers or pray in congregation. The worst come to worst when a new convert is put into segregation units for why he become a Muslim. This is not far from Spanish inquisitors or Nazi treatment, not only against one nation but all nations, as though a large proportion of these converts are English. This is a sad, sad situation that can be resolved by the efforts of all wise people against such prejudice, oppression, discrimination and injustice." [More]

Words of Wisdom From Behind Bars: Seize the Moment
by Babar Ahmad
Never belittle or ignore any good deed whether it is bringing water to your brother or saying the remembrance supplications after each Salah or helping someone to carry their luggage or smiling in the face of your brother. Or if it is helping to ransom a captive prisoner. Never belittle or ignore any good deed because that could be the deed that brings you salvation and admits you into Paradise.
