A beautiful nice article, I did not write it, about our Islaamic Heritage, its distinction from Wahi, and our duty to regain our past.
Our hearts long for the return of the Islaamic State and Ummah's revival which is in effect, insha Allah!

The Revelation is not a Heritage
Linguistically the Arabic word Turath, meaning ‘the heritage’ is a term derived from the Arabic
word Mirath meaning inheritance, which represents what a deceased person leaves behind in terms
of assets, estates etc..
The heritage in general terms refers to the intellectual and cultural legacy of the ancestors. In the
Islamic terminology, the heritage refers to what the former Muslims left in terms of culture,
education, sciences and industries.
The revelation is divided into two parts: Either a text and a meaning both from Allah (SWT)
revealed to His Messenger (SAW), and that is the Holy Qur’an; or a meaning and a guidance from
Allah (SWT) revealed to His Messenger (SAW), with the wording i.e. the text, or the action or the
avowal delivered by the Messenger of Allah (SAW), and this is known as the Sunnah, which
includes the actions of the Messenger of Allah (SAW), his speech and his avowals i.e. his silence
over certain actions and sayings or of those around him which indicated that the Shari’ah approved
of such sayings and actions.
The revelation is not part of the heritage, for it is from Allah (SWT) and not the product of the
Muslims’ mind, the verse of:
"Say He is Allah the One and Only" [TMQ 112:1]
- Is not part of the heritage, however, its writing in a particular script and its adornment or its
commentary or the extraction of a rule from it would be part of the heritage, for all of that is
performed by the human even if its origin is the revelation.
The heritage is divided into two types:
1 - A type that is derived from the viewpoint about life: i.e. emanating from the Islamic Aqeeda;
this type includes the culture and the education such as the Fiqh (jurisprudence), the Tafseer
(commentary), the science of Tawheed (oneness), mosques, the tribunals records and every thing
that is the product of the Islamic system.
2 - A type that is the product of a rational activity only: this type of heritage forms the outcome
reached by way of observation and deduction and is not derived from the Islamic Aqeeda, such as
Maths and Physics and others. Industries and the various industrial plants represent the fruit of such
sciences.
The Muslims’ duty today towards the first class of heritage:
1 - The purification of this heritage from all the erroneous concepts that have been associated with
it through times, such as the concepts falsely attributed to Islam by the sects which alienated
themselves from Islam and the orientalists.
The purification of the heritage would entail comparing it with the fixed criterion that is immune
from falsehood i.e. the revelation represented by the Qur’an and the sound (Sahih) Hadith, the
Messenger of Allah (SAW) has guided us to this when he (SAW) said: "He who innovates
something that is not in our teaching is rejected." i.e. it is not part of the Shari’ah.
2 - Sorting, classifying and recording the heritage and making it accessible to the largest possible
amount of people by making it available in public libraries.
3 - To make good use of the heritage today, especially that the Muslims have sensed the need for
revival and are looking for the way to achieve revival on the basis of Islam, the heritage contains
invaluable and huge resources, most of it based on foundations and principles, built and devised by
distinguished learned scholars, they called them the science of the foundations of jurisprudence, it
is a science that demonstrates the method of Ijtihad which is the extraction of the practical Shari’ah
rules from their detailed evidences.
4 - Once the Islamic state is established, the heritage which is in the possession of the disbelievers
must be retrieved, even if they have to be fought for it.
The Muslims duty today towards the second type of heritage, and towards Industry and
modern science:
The Muslim heritage in sciences and technology is a human product, the Muslims took part in it
and so did former nations before them such as the Greeks, the Persians, the Kurds, the Indians, the
Turks and the Arabs etc.... This heritage reached the Westerners and they improved it and added to
it, in some cases they interpreted this heritage into industries and inventions, this made this era as
the era of science; the Westerners invented machines and technologies designed to provide comfort
to people such as the various means of transport etc.. They also invented devices designed for
exterminating humankind such as atomic bombs, nuclear and chemical warheads and biological
weapons.
Muslims should not be content with boasting about what their forefathers had achieved in terms of
science and technology, they should aim at achieving the status of an industrial nation, and prepare
themselves scientifically and technologically in order to serve their state which they yearn for, and
in order to turn it into a mighty state feared by everyone, and able to serve its subjects in the best
possible way. Science and industry are part of the preparations Allah (SWT) has ordered us to carry
out, He (SWT) says:
"And prepare for them whatever you can in terms of weapons." [TMQ 9: ]
- and they are part of the duties of the State i.e. the guardian, this is the guardianship mentioned in
the Hadith of the Messenger of Allah (SAW):
"You are all guardians and each one of you is responsible for his guardianship."
Our hearts long for the return of the Islaamic State and Ummah's revival which is in effect, insha Allah!
