No Nation waits for its Slaughter?
Everywhere in the world today Muslims are under fire. If we are not being physically fought, we are being fought ideologically. All it takes to realize this nowadays for the average Muslims is to pick of the local paper or read the news on the internet to get the feeling that internationally, Muslims and our Deen are under attack. Every day we hear or read that Muslims in Iraq have been killed, but this is not the only place. Muslims are being killed in the Philippines, in China, in India, in Chechnya, in Sudan, in Nigeria, in Saudi Arabia, in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and other places in the world under the justification that these are the “Terrorists” or “militants” that want to harm the so called free world ran by the Western powers, thus Muslim extermination is excused by the world.
If the Kuffar and the enemies of Islaam are not physically killing or bombing us they are tormenting and torturing us. For example, in Uzbekistan, Cuba, Iraq, Egypt, Turkey, and other parts of the Muslim world Muslims sit in dungeons at the whims of tyrants who inflict pain, harsh treatment, rape, burning, cutting, and other forms of torture on our brothers. If this is not enough for the Muslims in America and the West to feel the attack going on, Muslims are being treated as suspects in the Western part of the world where simply being Muslim can get your passport restricted, you fired or not hired for jobs, or even locked up for life.
So while it is politically safe for you to support Israeli militancy on the Palestinians, to support the right of Muslims to fight after September 11, 2001 is a sin that might get you put on a watch list, funds taken away, your tenure revoked, or proclaimed a terrorist. We who live in the west have another battle to fight. It is ideological in nature. We have to confront attempts to secularize our Deen, to make it just another weak religion in the face of secular democracy that that is backwards and regulated to ritual and spiritual spheres of Western life.
Although this attack is ideological, it nonetheless is a battle no doubt that we endure. We endure the pain of knowing in our hearts that Islaam is a solution for the Western societies while listening to rhetoric from their leaders. This is a battle in itself. When the West attacks our brothers or calls them terrorist, it disturbs or should disturb us.
The news media has contributed to demonizing Islaam and Muslims, so that Muslims are the prime suspects for terrorism or suspicion. Even when Muslims have come out and have said they are simply “peaceful people” who mean the average American no harm, they have still been targeted and stopped and denied flying rights or funds. As one military person said recently, the “gloves have come off” in their treatment of Muslims—meaning there is no more soft treatment.
Al-Hamdulillah, this has only pushed Muslims to reconsider our realities all around the world, thus turn more towards Allah as the only protector, the only Wali. We see today who is the real terrorist and enemy to our Ummah and this is a good thing. What bothers me (and it should bother every Muslim) is what are we doing about our current affairs?
If someone breaks into a man’s home and attempts to harm his family, his natural reaction is to fight to his death. After this has occurred, he takes actions which will provide security to himself and his family in the future, Insha Allah. He may buy a gun, install a security system, or move to a different neighborhood. But certainly he would not wait for the same thing to happen again. He would not allow anyone to tell him that he should just pray on it or ask the criminals of the world not to do it again. The natural question that should bug us as Muslims is what kind of a Ummah (or Muslim) waits to be slaughtered or taken from its home in the middle of the night to be tortured then imprisoned or killed?
What kind of a Nation would not take steps to secure its children and women from the shock, horror, or grief potentially waiting for it? This is the question that the Ummah has to ask itself, for this is the stark reality of our position in the West and East. We have no security or peace of mind as a Muslim because we have no State to protect us. We have no Muslim army ran such an Islaamic State to fight those who attack us with far more sophisticated weaponry. We have no State to take care of our affairs. The Imam or Khalifah is such an important aspect of our security for Rasuluullah (saw) said that:
Narrated Abu Huraira
That heard Allah's Apostle saying, "We are the last but will be the foremost to enter Paradise)." The Prophet added, "He who obeys me, obeys Allah, and he who disobeys me, disobeys Allah. He who obeys the chief, obeys me, and he who disobeys the chief, disobeys me. The Imam is like a shelter for whose safety the Muslims should fight and where they should seek protection. If the Imam orders people with righteousness and rules justly, then he will be rewarded for that, and if he does the opposite, he will be responsible for that."
O Ummah, O Muslim Men and Women, will we not take actions that any sensible Ummah should take to protect itself and its ideology from the wolves that sometimes appear in sheep’s clothing telling us that voting is the solution. Will we not put all our efforts and resources into the cause and the call for the Islaamic Khilafah State that is the only solution to our security and life problems?
