Some of the features of fiercest attack that the system of Islam is facing
All Praise due to Allah, and Peace be on to his slaves that he has chosen above all others.
The Islamic Ummah today is undergoing difficult labour pains that, inshaAllah, will be followed by a new birth for the Islamic State, returning Islam as a way of life for Muslims to live by. In the midst of these labour pains, many understandings and opinions arise. Questions and doubts are raised, and although the greatest section of the Ummah believe that Islam is fit for every time and place, and only through it can the time and place be bettered, there are those who have nothing better to do than to attack the Da'wa carriers who work to resume the Islamic way of life, accusing them of reverting humanity back to the middle ages, because Islam is not fit to be applied in the age of technology, the space age, the age of the atom. Even if some get over this particular issue, they exclaim in rejection: "How was the period of the Prophet, sallAllahu 'alayhi wasallam, and his reality, similar to our current day and age in any way? Do you want us to live a lifestyle designed for people who existed over 1400 years ago?"
Some, in an effort to be modern, have said that it is acceptable to accept man-made systems, as long as they do not contradict Islam, to keep up with the times. Some Westernised people have gone as far as declaring a Bid'a, stating that the practical Ahkam Shar'eea that are extracted from their detailed evidences are merely human knowledge and a man-made Fiqh. But the truth is that the Shari'a is a Divine revelation whose primary source is the Book of Allah, and is clarified by the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (sallAllahu 'alayhi wasallam).
Now, a large variety of what is falsely labeled as different types of "Fiqh" have been hatched, that essentially aim to twist the Ahkam Shar'eea, and escape having to abide by the commands and prohibitions of Allah. They give these new false types of "Fiqh" titles that have no truth to them, such as the "Fiqh of Reality" (Fiqh al-Waqi'), "Fiqh of Minorities" ( Fiqh Al-Aqaliyyat), "Fiqh of Defeat" ( Fiqh Al-Hazima), "Fiqh of Balancing" ( Fiqh Al-Muwazanaat), "Fiqh of Priorities" ( Fiqh Al-Awlawiyyat), and the "Fiqh of Results" (Fiqh Al-Ma-alaat).
Others have taken a neutral stance, as if the implementation of Islam is tenth on their list of priorities. Some have revived Bid'ahs (innovations) within Fiqh, and revived principles that deviate from Islamic Fiqh. These Bida'as and principles have appeared at the climax of the Dark Ages in the end of the 19th century, right before the destruction of the Islamic state; Bida'as such as the principle: "Ahkam change with the change of time and place", "Tradition is the arbitrator". They have also made the criterion of Benefit (Maslaha) a higher authority than the Qur'an and Sunnah, fully aware of their intentionally ignoring the difference between the scholars that spoke of Al-Masaalih Al-Mursala, as defined by them, and between their logical "benefits" that they have invented, which has not been endorsed by any respectable authority in Islamic history. By doing this, they have become little more than loudspeakers for what was stated in the report released by the Rand Corporation, which is supported by the US State Department. The report entitled "Civil Democratic Islam" states on page 37 that: "Modernism also applies the principle of Maslaha, or public good,…as something that was thought to override even the Qur'an itself".
Some of those who are lost in the dark have declared that imam Shafi'i, may Allah have mercy on him, had changed his Fiqh because of his traveling to a new place, by moving from Baghdad to Egypt, as if Islam is comprised of several different religions and sets of legislation: one Shari'a specifically for the people of Egypt and one Shari'a specifically for the people of Iraq! We will return to this point a little later, inshaAllah, to explain its true reality.
Others have revived an art of playing with the Noble Shari'a, by applying principles outside of their Shar'iee contexts, generalizing these principles to such a degree that the principles "Necessity makes the Haram permissible", and "Difficulty brings ease", and the verse of Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala) "[Allah] has imposed no difficulties on you in religion" [ TMQ Hajj: 78 ] have almost become their only source of legislation.
They have endlessly quoted the Hadeeth of A'isha (may Allah be pleased with her), where she said: "The Prophet, sallAllahu 'alayhi wasallam, was not given a choice between two matters except he always chose the easiest option, unless it was a sin. If it was sin then he would be the furthest of the people from it" [Bukhari], using this evidence outside of its reality and context.
And lastly, some have called to a gradual way of changing the reality, by claiming that Khamr (intoxicants) were made prohibited gradually, and therefore this current stage we are in requires "this-and-that", and "whatever cannot be done completely today can be done partly", and "give and take", and so on. These people, and all the above, have ignored the Shar'i method of extracting the Ahkam (Islamic laws) from their original sources (the Qur'an and Sunnah), which is a method that cannot be modified or changed. These attempts have produced nothing more than rules that externally seem to be full of mercy, but on the inside are filled with punishment.
The careful observer of these calamities can only attribute them to two reasons: One, either these people are afflicted with ignorance of the nature of Islam, and a loss of trust in its laws, which has led these people - assuming their sincerity - to drown in the muddy swamp of reality. Rather than changing the reality in a fundamental and revolutionary way, we see them taking the reality as their source of thinking instead of their object of thinking, in order to change it.
Or, the second possible reason is that some of them are agents working for the colonialists, and are hateful of Islam, injecting poison into the healthy parts, so that the Ummah is lost in the ruins of helplessness. All this in order that they lose their cultural identity, their civilization is killed, and that the Ummah can melt into the Western culture, allowing the West to rid themselves from the greatest challenge they face in the coming decades.
On another front, since the dying days of the Ottoman Islamic State, the West has launched a fierce attack on the concepts of Islam in an attempt to cast doubt on its applicability, even claiming that Islam was only implemented in the age of the four rightly guided Khulafaa. One of the weaponry in this attack is creating a reality that is the furthest from Islam, and then asking for the Hukm Shar'iee on such disastrous issues that were caused by the corrupt reality. An example of this is someone asking for the ruling of Islam on insurance where it is legally obligatory, or the ruling on taking interest-bearing loans, where poverty has spread, for the sake of basic needs of life, or the ruling on corporations, or the ruling on treaties established by today's rulers with the colonialists to firmly plant their feet in the Muslim lands, as well as other issues. The Islamic rule is questioned about these issues as if Islam is responsible for solving the corrupt reality with solutions that are based on it, ignoring totally the fact that the corrupt reality is a result of the absence of Islam and the presence of Capitalism its place.
The West has also attacked polygamy, Jihad and the Hijab, and has forced their way of life upon Muslims. They placed a totalitarian dictatorship on the Muslims' necks, falsely persuading them that the solution to their problems is the opposite of dictatorships, which, as they claim, is democracy. They maliciously hid the fact that the true alternative to the tyranny of Democracy, which makes Muslims bow down to a few legislators that make up laws according to their desires, transgressing on the right of Allah to legislate. Truly, the only alternative to dictatorships is Islam.
The Kafir West and their agents have also resorted to taking advantage of the general weakness of Muslims in understanding Islam. They have carefully separated the Arabic energy from the Islamic energy, and, as such, have diluted a large number of the Shar'iee concepts, so that they could be rid of them and replaced them with Western concepts, and imported their own names; so Riba is now called "interest". The Muslim no longer shakes in fear when he hears that dealing with Riba means to declare war against Allah and His Messenger. As a result, the effect of the Islamic energy that exists in the Arabic words "Riba" and "Haram" no longer exists, and was replaced by the concepts of the West. This is how Islam began fading away from reality, and, with time, Muslims can no longer imagine Islam replacing corporations that have filled all corners of the earth, and Riba banks that have their sky scrapers near the Ka'bah in Mecca.
After this introduction that describes the reality of these calls, it is essential to remember some basics that are enough to refute these claims through and through: By remembering the Islamic method for extracting Islamic legislation and dealing with reality, and by remembering the Islamic method for following other scholars' opinions (Taqleed). And by answering the question asked by a large number of the honourable sons of the Ummah: "Can I put the responsibility of this matter on the neck of the scholar that I follow and be absolved from his errors?"
It is also essential to remember the Islamic method in solving problems, and to remember the verse "The right of Rule is for Allah alone", and the meaning of this verse "They said: 'What affair is this of ours?' Say: 'Indeed, this affair is wholly Allah's'" [ TMQ Al-Imran : 154] and to remember the verse "Say: "Shall I seek for judgment other than Allah, when it was He Who has sent to you the Book, explained in detail?" [ TMQ Al-Ana'am:114]. We must also remember the completeness of Shari'ah as we tackle the saying of those who say that the Islamic Shari'ah lacks texts to address certain issues, or those with the wrong understanding of the Da'irat Al-'Afw (sphere of pardoning) that the Prophet, sallAllahu 'alayhi wasallam, mentioned in the narration of Ibn Mardawiyah, authenticated by Al-Hakim narrated by Muhammed bin Shuraik, from Amrou bin Dinar, from Abi Al-Sha'tha, from Ibn 'Abaas, who said: "The people of Jahiliyya (before Islam) used to eat things and leave others out of disgust, then Allah has sent his Messenger and revealed His Book, established the Halal and established the Haram. So anything that has been allowed in it, is Halal, and anything he prohibited, is Haram, and whatever He remained silent on then it is pardoned" and then he read the verse "Say: I find not in the Message that has been revealed to me…(to the end of the Ayah)" [Al-Ana'am : 145].
I say we remember this and others, inshaAllah, so that we can place our hands on what increases our confidence in that there is no solution nor salvation for humanity except by embodying the understanding of Rib'iee bin 'Aamir, may Allah be pleased with him, when at the royal Persian court, he said: "Allah has sent us to elevate the slaves from the worship of slaves to the worship of the Lord of slaves, and from the oppression of religions to the justice of Islam, and from the constriction of this Dunya (world), to the expanse of the Dunya and the Akhirah.
It is also important to mention the Islamic method of solving humans' problems, for Islam has solved the problems of humans with regards to them being humans, not being Abdullah or Ahmed, and this solution is one that does not change with the change of time or place.
We ask Allah the All-Mighty, the Lord of the Great Throne, to guide the Muslims to their path, and to increase them in steadfastness in following their method towards revival and honour: To please the Lord of the universe, to abide by His commands and abstain from His prohibitions, and to make His noble Shari'a, the Islamic System, the only system that is implemented in their lives.
Walhamdulillahi Rabb Al-'Alameen
All Praise due to Allah, and Peace be on to his slaves that he has chosen above all others.
