I recently read "The Evolution of Fiqh" by Bilaal Phillips and I was wondering if anyone else here read it and what you thought of it. Would love to hear your opinions!

asalaamu alaykum,
Well it is the only book on fiqh I've read and I thought it was good in terms of understanding the history of the medhabs and scholars. But I am told there are lot of implications made in the book which can only be picked up by reading in between the lines and the last few chapters dealing with taqleed I am told Mr. Phillips is off mark.
Anyway I was hoping someone here read it and they could offer their view but I guess not!
