thepakistaninewspaper.com/news_detail.php?id=1432WASHINGTON (NNI) The U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell has said that waging war on terrorism would not be possible Pakistan’s cooperation. “The United States has forged a new partnership with Pakistan,” Mr Powell told the U.S. Global Leadership Campaign. Powell disclosed he called President Musharraf two days after 9/11 attacks and he agreed that it was time for him to make a strategic choice and he made that choice. "Now after three we are working in close partnership with President Musharraf, as we help him to move his country forward at a pace that the Pakistani people can absorb," he said. He said the U.S is getting unprecedented cooperation in South Asia. "We have transformed our relationship with India and we have forged a new partnership with Pakistan." Secretary Powell said, United States no longer view India and China in the way they had been viewed for so many years- "Each of them are now important friends and partners with us, and because of that relationship, we can help them as they deal with the outstanding difficulties that they have had for so many years." "We work with our Quartet partners, the Russian Federation, the United Nations and the European Union to be ready to do what we can to move the Middle East peace process along so we can achieve the goals of the roadmap which were laid out by the President in June of 2002. A Palestinian state that is free and at peace with the state of Israel remains our goal and we will do everything we can to achieve that goal", he said.

PRESS STATEMENT Musharraf in his five years of rule has weakened Pakistan and the Ummah as well as ruined the situation of the masses uploaded 20 Oct 2004
During the past five years of the Musharraf regime the type of political, economic and religious damage that has been incurred by Pakistan and its people is unprecedented, more damage has been done than any of his predecessors’ rule. It was during Musharraf’s tenure when Pakistani land was used for massacring Muslims and destroying Afghanistan; a U-turn was taken on the Kashmir issue by declaring Jihad as terrorism; scientists and doctors were abducted; more than 500 Muslims were sent to Guantanamo Bay’s torture cells; complete silence was observed on carnage of Iraqi people and horrifying pictures of Abu Ghraib prison; a vote was casted in favour of legitimising US occupation of Iraq in the Security Council; hundreds of thousand people were pushed below the poverty line in Pakistan and our own people were bombed indiscriminately in Wana and civilian casualties were unfeelingly termed as “collateral damage”.
It was none other than Musharraf who tried to eliminate the concept of Jihad in the new generation and to quash their desire to stand up against oppression by changing the curriculum; he stated the acceptance of the illegitimate existence of usurper Israel; he sold the sons, daughters and wives of the Mujahideen to the inhumane Americans for a petty reward; he attacked Islam under the guise of Hudood and Blasphemy laws; he granted permanent bases to American forces; provided full assistance to FBI to raid houses; and encouraged the spread of immorality, obscenity and the Hindu culture.
And above all, by using terror tactics, Musharraf tried to convince the masses that they are such a feeble nation that it is better for them to bow down in submission to the Americans and the Indians without even putting up a resistance, even though Pakistan is a powerful nuclear state and has such a strong army. O Muslims! You will never gain strength or honour under the leadership of Musharraf and his capitalists system. Muslims’ can only re-gain their strength and unification through the establishment of Khilafah.

These comments do not belong on an Islaamic board and should be on a Nationalist Pakistani board.

Even on Nationalistic board people depise Busharraf anyway as Busharraf is not looking after the interests of Pakistan. So any angle you look at it whoever supports Busharraf is politically naive and lacks understanding of the situation.
