As-salaamu'alaykum!
Is there anyway to protect the posts in case something happens to the board?
A backup?

As-salaamu'alaykum!
Well...this may be a job for the administrator...or moderator?
The only thing that comes to mind is a manual way, which may be primitive in today's technology age.
One could simply cut and paste all the posts, it is not that hard if you go to printing format which will contain all the posts in a thread, and save it to a Disc (burn a copy) or Hard drive (probably should burn a copy of this too).
Just in case the site goes down or is erased, one has a "handy dandy" backup. Some of the things I have posted have been stuff I retrieved from archives of different yahoo groups. I did not have a copy of that recently poem I wrote. I actually found it on a group (Muslims-worldwide) that is no longer active anymore. So it is important to have backups in case one looses what they have even written.
Now of course I am sure those who "monitor Islaamic sites" might have their own computer copy... but we cannot ask for theirs in such times.
Let me know what you think?

As-salam alaikum. I apologise for not getting back earlier on this.
Unfortunately, it will be very difficult for me to take out the time to copy the posts on this board. I think the idea of a backup is a very good one since a lot of material on here is worth reading and revisiting. Now when I need to send an article on to someone, I just need to log on to this site to find it. It's become a useful database for knowledge and da'wa.
wa salam.

I agree that it is and can become an even better reference point for Muslims and others seeking the Haqq! I know about the time thing, as I type now, I am about to get ready to leave for work. I know that it can cut time in with the family. I typically put time in when I come home from work or late at nights. This is why we have moderators who can help with this if simply informed to do so. May Allah reward those who put the effort for him and Islaam sincerely seeking on his pleasure! Just let me know what you cannot do concerning the posts. I recently had a computer problem, so I see how easy things can be erased. Do you have a CD burner? I do. This is probably the best well to save the post is to burn them as we post more and more. In addition instead of starting group after group or board after board, I am sticking with this one to try to build it as if it is my own. Let me know if you need help with the posts? was-salaam

Ok, insha Allah I will handle this.
Please do tell us about How your stay is going in Hijazz.
What is Islaam like there? Many Muslims still continue see this place as a place were Islaam is ruling.
What has your experience been like. I think this would be an informing and interesting read.
Please consider writing about it?

I still am in the process, but I am finding it very time consuming.
Admin Islamic Revival,
How about this...I can do the first 9 or so and you can do the rest.
Then send it to me and I would burn it to a disk.
It is difficult because the board is constantly getting new posts (mostly from us).
Let me know what you think as soon as possible. Keep up the Good work, isha Allah!

Don't worry about it Br Maruf, it is a huge task. MashAllah this site is becoming a good resource for information.
Either we can individually store those articles we like for ourselves, or in the future, if we have more moderators, then each moderator can store the posts under their own thread, thus spreading the work

I am not much of techy person but I found myself a way of archiving all the good articles, documents etc which are worth keeping.
I got myself Gmail (google mail) email account, each one comes with 1GB storage space and it has a v.good search facility and its all free.
I dont know how useful it would be here. Another idea is to host this board on our own server to make it look professional and we will never loose any messages, there is a lil cost attached to it, but if we all think its a good idea than I can buy webspace and setup invision board.

The idea seems to be loaded with many pros...So how can I say no...what are the cons other than money?
How much money does it cost? Good to see you more active Bint Mohammed on the board!
May Allah reward you!
