As-salam alaikum,
On this thread I would like to hear from others on the books (printed or online) they would recommend others to read, from seerah to fiqh to current affairs. Anything which helps us to gain in knowledge, to help improve our personalities and for the da'wah.
JazakAllah khair

These suggestions and comments are not mine. They came from another brother on another list who was asked the same question you asked by another brother.
I would assume some of these books you might have,?Let me know! Some are online as well, or I can send them to you. You may already know of them as well...again let me know.
I agree with his suggestions btw.
Where have all the other members gone?

Tafsir ibn Kathir has been published in English albeit an
abridgedversion it is invaluable for the Muslim to find
out the background of revelationand the lessons we
can derive. None of us should speak of our opinion
about theword of Allah azza wa jal.
Raheeq al-Makhtum is excellent primer on the seerah of
the Prophet (saw)and compliments The Islamic State by
the Hizb. Companions of the Prophet (2 volumes) gives
us insight into the struggles and trials of the sahaba
and gives us a vision of a dawa carrier. Arethere better
dawa carriers than the companions themselves?
through them revelation was conveyed, the deen was
established and thus by Allah's leave we are Muslims today.
In The Problem with Interest, Tarek El-Diwany gives a
historical perspective of how the contemporary financial
system developed. If you want to diss
interest, after the relevant ahadith and ayat, this book
is a must-read. Our Philosophy by Baqir as-Sadr is a
hefty book to be digested over weeks
(if not months) rather than days. It goes through the
flaws of the
various philosophers through the ages. As-Sadr
deconstructs each camp's ideas and destroys science as
a basis for thought. This is basically what we learnt
in Nitham al-Islam but with all the flesh.
Ihya Ulum ad-Din by Imam al-Ghazzali. He is known as
Hujjat-ul-Islam and this text is in multiple volumes
spanning issues every Muslim should know about to
those which every Muslim should strive for.
This History of the Khaleefahs who took the Right Way by Imam Jalaluddin as-Suyuti discusses the attributes of
AbuBakr, Umar, Uthman, Ali and Hassan
(or Hussain?) may Allah be pleased with them, how they
came to the Khilafah and what they achieved during
their reign.
Ahkam as-Sultaniyyah (Laws of Islamic governance) by
Imam al-Mawardi is detailed in the working of the
Khilafah system and opens ones eyes to how the
Khilafah will be organised. Don't read Nitham-al-Hukm
without it.
Nawawi's collection of 40 hadith. Everyone should try to
read these as the encompass so many aspects of the
Deen.

Yes, these recommendations were helpful. I don't have many of the books and will inshAllah look for them to read.
I'm also interested to hear about other books which help to increase knowledge about political events/analysis.
I'm sure others are more knowledgable in their reading selections, but I will still inshAllah post the names of some books I read recently.

"I'm also interested to hear about other books which help to increase knowledge about political events/analysis."
Have you read Political concepts and Political thoughts by Hizb ut Tahrir?
I would assume you have, but I am not sure. If not I would start there.
Political thoughts are at 1924.org or khilafah.com and I can send you concepts if needed.
Maybe both might be at hizb-ut-tahrir.org as well. Let me know.
Btw. I just sent "our philosophy" but it was rejected by your account. Which account can I send it to?

I live in the Middle East, so I have to be very careful about what I receive in my email, which sites I visit and what I write about.
Maybe the email bounced because of the file size.

I bought Tafsir ibn Kathir last week.
I also saw another book called 'The Sealed Nectar' but did not buy it yet. Have you read it? If so, what do you think of it?

Ahlah wa Sahlan Welcome back to the board! Masha Allah fo buying the tafsir of Ibn Kathir, May Allah enable you to use it for Islaam and your family. This is my fault I guess. "Sealed Nectar" is Raheeq al-Makhtum in Al lawghatul Arabiyah or The Arabic language. It is online as I indicated in my previous post. Some have said it is as if "The Hizb wrote it." It is very good and another one of those 101 books for the da'wah carriers. On another note... Of course we know as Muslims, as Da'wah carriers...that at any time....one's last email or post may be just that...so please keep the Da'wah carriers in your Du'as and continue the struggle for Allah and his Deen! May Allah protect us and our families and enter us into Jennah! was-salaam Ma'ruf Here are my posts again: The brother's words: Raheeq al-Makhtum is excellent primer on the seerah of the Prophet (saw)and compliments The Islamic State by the Hizb. Arethere better dawa carriers than the companions themselves? through them revelation was conveyed, the deen was established and thus by Allah's leave we are Muslims today My comments: Here is: AR-RaheeQ Al-Makhtum I love when I hear this in the Qur'an. I would assume you may know this one but here it is anyway. www.youngmuslims.ca/online_library/books/the_sealed_nectar/ Logged
